PhD. Candidate, Institute of Transportation Studies (ITS)
Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering
University of California - Irvine
Hello! Welcome to my home-page.
I am a graduate student at University of California, Irvine currently pursuing my PhD. in Transportation Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering. My PhD. advisor is Dr. Wen-Long Jin.
My research interest lies in the field of Traffic Flow Theory. My current research focuses on modeling acceleration into traffic flow models. I am also interested in other related fields such as network traffic modeling, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), traffic operations and control, and data mining techniques in transportation.
Before joining U.C.-Irvine in 2011, I graduated with a Master of Science degree from University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. For my Master's thesis, I investigated freeway bottleneck features and developed a new co-ordinated freeway ramp metering strategy (advisor: Dr. Nikolas Geroliminis).
I did my undergraduate studies at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur in Civil Engineering.
Besides transportation engineering, I have an active interest in various Computer Science topics such as Algorithms, and Data Mining. Before starting my MS, I worked as an applications engineer for Oracle India Pvt. Ltd. for approximately 3 years.
